About the Farm
Background
Founded in 1919 by A.F. Willett and his wife Bessie, the W Diamond L Ranch began as a homestead in northeastern New Mexico. The Willetts established the W Diamond L brand for horses and cattle. Today, the northern half of the original ranch is managed by their granddaughter Suzanne Bennefield and her husband Ted, with their son Jeremy also contributing to the ranch's operations.
Practices
The ranch employs good management practices and quality natural inputs, avoiding GMO foods, petro-chemical fertilizers, and pesticides. An integrated approach to pest management is used, which includes monitoring for early signs of pests, utilizing beneficial organisms, and applying natural pest repellents and pesticides.
The Rest
The ranch also engages in avid gardening, selling surplus vegetables and fruit locally. Fresh eggs are available for local customers. For more information on purchasing plants, veggies, or eggs, visitors are encouraged to visit their website.
