About the Farm

Background

The dream began in 2009 after a visit to a local alpaca farm, leading to the establishment of a small herd of eight alpacas. Over the years, the farm has grown to include colored merino sheep, and has become a place for learning and sharing experiences related to livestock care, knitting, spinning, dyeing, and felting.

Practices

The farm is MAEAP certified in livestock and farmstead, and works with the Natural Resource Conservation Service to implement regenerative practices such as no tilling or minimum tillage, increasing soil fertility without synthetic fertilizers, establishing a monarch way station and bee habitat, and maintaining rotational grazing for livestock. The farm also takes measures to eliminate plastic and excess packaging in their boutique.

The Rest

Visitors can tour the farm by appointment to learn more about alpacas and check out the farm store, which sells yarns, rovings, and other items made from the farm's fleece. The boutique also offers socks and outdoor wear made in Peru, and operates with regular business hours during the holiday season. Follow the farm on Facebook and Instagram for more details and upcoming events.
