About the Farm
Background
Entering its seventh production season in 2017, Uproot Farm was founded after the owners apprenticed on well-established organic vegetable CSA farms. These experiences provided them with the knowledge and skills to grow vegetables, handle post-harvest processes for maximum storage life, and assemble well-balanced CSA boxes.
Practices
The farm adheres to certified organic practices, ensuring that all vegetables are grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. The focus is on maintaining soil health and biodiversity through crop rotation, cover cropping, and organic amendments. Post-harvest handling is meticulous, aimed at preserving the freshness and longevity of the produce.
The Rest
Uproot Farm offers an 18-week summer vegetable CSA with delivery to various sites in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas, as well as a Farmers Market Share for more flexibility. Eggs from Sunshine Harvest Farm are also available through the CSA. The farm operates with a small team of four, ensuring personal care and attention to the produce.
