About the Farm
Background
Located on 500 acres on the shores of China Lake, this family-owned and operated farm is known for its commitment to organic farming and high-quality meat and dairy production. Certified organic by the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, it contributes to a large organic milk distributor and serves local restaurants with its organic milk-fed veal.
Practices
The farm produces organic milk without the use of hormones or antibiotics and raises pasture-raised organic Jersey beef, organic milk-fed veal, and organic pasture-raised turkeys. Pigs are raised naturally and free of hormones and antibiotics, though not certified organic. Organic eggs from pasture-raised chickens are available year-round, and the farm also produces certified organic grain for animal feed.
The Rest
Customers can place special orders for veal and call ahead to order organic turkeys for Thanksgiving. A variety of pork cuts are also available.
