About the Farm
Background
The farm has been in the Brown family since 1896, starting as a dairy farm before transitioning to vegetable production, farmers markets, and Christmas tree farming in the 1980s. Linda and James Brown took over in 1969, and their son Jamie later diversified the farm's offerings. The farm entered farmland preservation in 1984, ensuring it could not be sold for development. Over the years, the farm added educational tours, camps, and fresh meats. In 2018, they began raising turkeys for holiday sales.
Practices
The farm practices natural animal raising methods, with animals having access to pasture, water, and grain. They emphasize high-quality, locally processed meats. The farm is committed to farmland preservation, ensuring sustainable use of their land for future generations.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of activities including pick-your-own strawberries, a pumpkin patch with hayrides, and educational tours in October. They also provide a CSA program, participate in local farmers markets, and host seasonal events like Christmas tree cutting with visits from Santa. The farm partners with local restaurants to supply farm-to-table menus and offers an educational camp for both adults and children.
