The Trail Less Taken Farm

The Trail Less Taken Farm, known locally as the Old Bull Farm, has a long history serving various roles in the Vassalboro community, including as a dairy farm, horse farm, elderly housing, and a state storage facility. The Ellis family purchased the rundown property in 2010 after foreclosure and began extensive renovations, including transforming an old building into a high-end duplex and rehabbing barns.

The farm utilizes over 3 acres of land for gardening, which expands annually, and has developed facilities for pig stalls, chicken coops, horse pastures, and a round pen. They have also expanded into meat and egg production.

The farm started a roadside stand in 2011 and plans to offer horse boarding, trail riding, and lessons in the future. They also host weddings and small parties.
