About the Farm
Background
Located in the rolling hills of south central Texas among beautiful oak trees, this 100-year-old, four-generation farm has been operated by the Frerichs family. Known for their Grade A raw Jersey milk and farmstead cheeses, the farm has been a staple in the community since 1948.
Practices
The farm's philosophy centers around raising a grassfed, pastured Jersey herd, ensuring the cows graze freely on lush pastures. They also produce grass-fed and finished beef, organic pastured chicken, and pastured pork. The interconnectedness of their farming practices emphasizes the health of the land and the animals, promoting a balanced ecosystem.
The Rest
Visitors are welcomed to tour the farm daily, with guided tours available on specific days and times. The farm also features a gift shop offering raw milk, farmstead cheeses, and free-range eggs. Seasonal events such as pumpkin patches and Easter egg hunts add to the farm's charm, making it a popular destination for families and groups.
