About

Facts
Founded 2004
Background

Begun in 2004 by Jerry Hicks and Jerry Neff, the farm has grown each year in supplying individuals with healthy meat and produce from a trusted local supplier. Known for its commitment to organic practices and community engagement, the farm has become a reliable source for high-quality, hormone-free, pasture-raised beef, chicken, and pork.

Practices

The farm employs draft work horses instead of heavy machinery, and uses a solar-powered livestock watering system. The pasture-made approach to raising pigs and cattle, followed by chickens, enhances both animal welfare and land health. Chickens are raised on pasture in movable pens, contributing to soil fertility and healthier pastures. The farm also sources non-GMO hog feed to supplement the pigs' pasture diet, maintaining a holistic approach to farming.

Of note

Orders for grass-finished beef and milk-fed pork are processed in late fall, while pasture-raised broiler chickens are available from April to October. The farm hosts an Open House on the second Saturday of each month, inviting visitors to meet the horses and learn about the farming practices. Honey from resident hives is also available, adding another layer of sustainability and product diversity to the farm.
