About the Farm
Background
Now in its 15th year, The Herb Hill Farm and Micro-Dairy has established itself as a Massachusetts licensed producer of raw goat's milk and a provider of certified organic vegetables, chickens, and eggs. Known for its commitment to organic and regenerative farming practices, the farm has become a trusted source of nutritious, high-quality food for the local community. Their produce and eggs are featured in local establishments like Fuse Bistro in Downtown Lowell.
Practices
The farm employs regenerative agriculture practices and a Holistic Management approach to ensure the health of the land, livestock, and crops. These methods focus on rebuilding soil biological life, increasing organic matter, and restoring biodiversity, which results in carbon sequestration and improved waterways. The farm's organic practices enhance soil health, leading to higher yields and more nutritious food while reducing weed and pest pressure. Livestock, including chickens and goats, graze on organic pastures and are raised without growth hormones or antibiotics, contributing to a natural regenerative system.
The Rest
The farm offers four CSA programs, providing shares in both vegetable programs and whole-meat chicken. Customers can purchase soy-free eggs, raw goat's milk, and certified organic vegetables through the farm store and CSA distributions. The farm's products are also available at local restaurants and food establishments. The goats are hand-milked twice a day and enjoy organic pasture grasses, while the chickens free-range on local organic pastureland. The farm's commitment to quality and sustainability is evident in every aspect of its operations.
