About the Farm
Background
Located in the Northern Green Mountains along the Lamoille River, the farm has become known for its dedication to growing cold hardy organic fruits and fruit nursery plants. Embracing the philosophy that 'Small is Beautiful,' the farm maintains a scale that allows for personal attention to both plants and small batch products.
Practices
The farm employs ecological principles and practices, working closely with nature to cultivate their crops. All plants are managed organically, with only those grown on the farm for at least one year considered certified organic. The farm specializes in hardy and regionally appropriate fruit trees, berry bushes, and pollinator plants, ensuring they are well-suited to the local climate, specifically hardy to Zone 4.
The Rest
The farm operates as a pick-up-only nursery, open by appointment from June through October. They propagate many of their trees and bushes, supplementing their inventory by buying in additional plants. The farm also offers a perennial fruit-bearing newsletter with growing tips, farm news, and workshop announcements.
