The Educational Farm at Joppa Hill

Incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2004, the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill operates on 35 acres of public land leased from the Town of Bedford, N.H. Originally a working dairy farm, it now hosts a variety of animals including horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, bunnies, alpacas, a donkey, and cows. The farm has been offering summer camps for children since 2005 and has expanded to include community garden plots, a farm stand, and various educational programs. Managed by a farm manager and a board of directors, the farm relies on over 100 volunteers for animal care, garden work, and structural repairs. The property is under conservation easements and connects to a trail system overseen by the Piscataquog Land Conservancy.

The farm emphasizes sustainable agriculture through its educational programs and tours. It offers community garden plots and encourages visitors to carry in/carry out to maintain cleanliness. The farm's practices are designed to preserve agricultural heritage and provide interactive educational experiences.

Open to the public every day, the farm serves as a trailhead for hikers, horseback riders, and runners. It hosts special events, birthday parties, and agricultural fairs, and provides a space for school field trips and summer camps. The farm also features a farm stand and offers hay rides. Dogs are welcome on leash, and visitors are encouraged to make donations or purchase items from the farm stand to support operations.
