About the Farm

Background

Kim and Dan Hulse, first-generation family farmers, started Terra Organics in 2004 after meeting at Terry’s Berries in the Puyallup Valley. They initially leased five acres near Enumclaw and later purchased a 40-acre parcel named Tahoma Farms in Orting Valley, preserved for organic production by the PCC Farmland Trust. Their journey began with a passion for the land and a background in organic produce marketing.

Practices

Terra Organics and Tahoma Farms are committed to organic production practices, including long-term crop rotations, planting green manures, and utilizing compost to build soil health. They focus on providing a seasonal, home-grown CSA and supplement their offerings with premium organic produce from other local farms and distributors.

The Rest

Terra Organics offers a variety of products beyond produce, including grain products from Bluebird Grain Farms and eggs from Stiebrs Farms. Each delivery includes a weekly newsletter with organic news, produce information, preparation tips, and recipes. They are dedicated to strengthening the local food economy and nourishing the community.
