About the Farm
Background
Located in the quiet town of Homer, MI, the farm spans 250 acres where it raises corn, soybeans, rye, and cover crops. A portion of this land is dedicated to 30 beef cattle, which are processed into custom meat for customers. The farm is committed to educating consumers about its agricultural practices and providing quality beef.
Practices
The farm employs regenerative agriculture techniques to restore soil health by using cover crops and grazing the cow-calf herd on these crops. This practice reduces the need for fertilizers and chemicals while enhancing the natural organic matter in the soil. The cattle benefit from the variety of cover crops they graze on, which contributes to their well-being.
The Rest
The farm sells beef in halves and quarters, as well as individual steaks, roasts, and ground beef packages at two different retail locations. The mission is to leave the earth better than it was found by being stewards of the land.
