About the Farm
Background
Founded by second-generation beekeeper Allen Bradd and his wife Angie, the business has its roots in Allen's early experiences with beekeeping alongside his father, Wayne. Over the years, Allen mastered the intricacies of managing beehives and producing raw honey. Today, the farm operates several hundred beehives across multiple states, aiming to reach approximately 1000 beehives.
Practices
The farm employs migratory beekeeping, moving beehives seasonally to different locations to produce various types of honey. They maintain bee yards in Douglas County, Georgia for Wildflower Honey, South Georgia for Tupelo Honey, Florida for Orange Blossom Honey, and the Appalachian Mountains for Sourwood Honey. Their honey extraction process involves removing honey from the beeswax comb through centripetal force and straining it without micro-filtering, ensuring the honey remains as pure as possible. All honey is bottled and labeled by hand.
The Rest
The farm offers a satisfaction guarantee for their honey, promising a refund for any unsatisfactory purchase under a gallon. They pride themselves on being direct honey producers rather than repackagers. Their Tupelo Honey has been recognized as one of the top five in the USA by USA Today. Customers can purchase honey online, at their Honey Store, or at various retail locations.
