Sweet Briar Farm

Sweet Briar Farm is a small, family-owned farm located in Hernando County. Known for its purebred Nubian dairy goats, the farm also raises Kune Kune pigs, Tamuk rabbits, and livestock guardian dogs. The Colson family has built a reputation for their humane and respectful treatment of animals, ensuring that goat kids are dam-raised and never separated from their mothers before weaning.

Sweet Briar Farm adheres to humane farming practices, treating all animals with love and respect. The farm raises its livestock on grass pastures, avoiding the use of chemicals and pesticides. Crop rotation is employed as part of their sustainable practices. Antibiotics are only used in life-threatening emergencies, and any medicated animals are removed from milk and egg production. Hormones are strictly avoided. The farm is licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture to sell dairy products.

All products are labeled and sold for animal consumption only, in compliance with Florida law and the pasteurized milk ordinance. Orders must be made in advance for gate pickup by appointment.
