About the Farm
Background
Located in the foothills of Vermont's Green Mountains, Sunnybrook Farm has been cultivating garlic for over two decades. Originally starting with a love for growing things, the farm expanded to include hops and Christmas trees. Although the hop yard is no longer in operation, the farm remains dedicated to its garlic and Christmas tree production. The farm acknowledges its location on the traditional and unceded homeland of the Western Abenaki People, honoring them as the traditional stewards of the land.
Practices
Sunnybrook Farm emphasizes organic farming practices, with their garlic and Christmas trees certified by Vermont Organic Farmers LLC. The garlic is harvested by hand, a labor-intensive process that reflects the farm's commitment to quality. The Christmas trees, specifically balsam firs, are grown without the use of herbicides, ensuring a gentle and environmentally conscious cultivation process.
The Rest
The farm's website features artwork by Deena Ball, who is known for painting farms, fields, and vegetables. Visitors can explore more of her work at deenasball.com. Sunnybrook Farm also maintains a presence on Instagram and Facebook, where they share updates and connect with their community.
