Sheep are pasture-raised without the use of antibiotics or hormones, relying on native grasses for sustenance. As a hair sheep breed, Barbados Blackbelly Sheep do not require shearing, making them easier to manage.

Breeding sheep are registered with the Barbados Blackbelly Sheep Association International (BBSAI), ensuring pedigree and quality. The meat from these sheep is noted for its wonderful flavor and mild taste.
