About the Farm
Background
Operating since 1978, the farm transitioned to organic in 2002, long before the organic milk market reached New York. Situated on 350 acres in western New York, they milk approximately 46 dairy cows and ship their milk to Organic Valley.
Practices
The farm emphasizes soil health to cultivate a complex nutrient cycle, allowing cows and hens to graze on open pastures. They avoid vaccines, antibiotics, and hormones, opting instead for organic-approved herbs and homeopathics. Milk is rapidly chilled and milking equipment is properly sanitized to ensure quality and safety.
The Rest
The farm is licensed to sell raw milk and operates a farm store offering grass-fed beef, maple syrup, apples, and English walnuts. Customers can purchase products directly from the farm or join a Raw Milk CSA. The farm also offers tours and encourages community involvement through various classes and events.
