About the Farm
Background
Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York, this small family farm has become known for its high-quality, pasture-raised meats and sustainably grown vegetables. They have established a presence at several local farmers markets, including the Saturday Ithaca Farmers Market at Steamboat Landing, the Tuesday market at Dewitt Park, and the Watkins Glen Farmers Market on Friday afternoons.
Practices
The farm raises beef, pork, and chicken on pasture, ensuring the animals have ample space and natural diets. Their beef is dry-aged for at least 21 days to enhance flavor and tenderness. All cured meats, including bacon, hams, beef sticks, and corned beef, are natural-cured without chemical nitrates. Eggs come from pasture-raised chickens fed certified organic feed. Vegetables are grown using sustainable farming methods, though specific techniques are not detailed.
The Rest
In addition to meats and vegetables, the farm produces and sells maple syrup, soaps, and candles made from their own tallow. Products are available at the farm by appointment, ensuring personal interaction and availability. Their presence at multiple farmers markets makes their products accessible to a wider community.
