About the Farm
Background
The farm has established itself as a diverse operation, focusing on heritage breeds and a variety of livestock and produce. Over time, it has expanded its offerings to include a wide range of poultry, rabbits, and seasonal vegetables and fruits.
Practices
The farm employs traditional methods to raise heritage breed Bourbon Red turkeys, Khaki Campbell ducks, and various chicken breeds such as Ameraucauna, Rhode Island Red, Brahma, and Australorp. The inclusion of American Chinchilla and New Zealand rabbits highlights a commitment to maintaining genetic diversity in livestock. Seasonal vegetables and blackberries are cultivated, and a high tunnel is being installed to extend the growing season. The farm also keeps a Jersey cow for dairy consumption, with potential plans to sell calves.
The Rest
Future plans include offering a variety of fruits and nuts such as apples, peaches, pears, plums, nectarines, almonds, pecans, mulberries, raspberries, currants, figs, and chestnuts as the trees and bushes mature. The farm encourages potential customers to reach out with any questions.
