About the Farm

Background

Steadfast Herbs was started in 2014 by two radical queer herbalists, Lauren Anderson and Finn Oakes, to provide the Bay Area with access to locally grown herbs and herbal medicines. In 2023, Finn moved on to pursue a private herbal practice and further education in Social Work, leaving Lauren as the solo farmer and herbalist. The farm is located on unceded Awaswas Ohlone land in the Cloverdale Valley along Little Butano Creek, presently owned by the Peninsula Open Space Trust, and shared with Root Down Farm.

Practices

Using organic practices, Steadfast Herbs grows over 60 varieties of medicinal plants on one acre. This small scale allows for a close connection with the plants and products, ensuring high quality and efficacy. The farm operates from a 'radical vitalist' perspective, supporting the body's innate force within a framework that is trauma-informed, body positive, and based in harm reduction.

The Rest

Steadfast Herbs offers a line of herbal products including teas, tinctures, and salves, made almost exclusively from plants grown on the farm. They also provide an Herbal CSA with seasonal remedies, available on a sliding scale with local pick-up or shipping. Fresh cut herbs are available during the height of the season for shipping and local pick-ups.
