About the Farm
Background
In 1983, Roman Stoltzfoos took over the family farm and began applying organic methods, rejuvenating the land and livestock. Amidst skepticism, organic turkeys were added in the late '80s. Dwight Stoltzfoos, the oldest of 11 children, assisted his father during the '90s in transitioning to certified organic practices and later implemented 100% grass-fed grazing. In 2007, Dwight took on herd and crop management, and in 2022, he purchased the farm, marking the fourth generation of family ownership.
Practices
The farm employs organic and regenerative livestock practices, focusing on adaptive grazing, silvopasture installations, and adequate rest periods to regenerate the soils. All animals are fed certified organic feed, and the farm is a member of Organic Valley/CROPP’s Grassmilk program. The philosophy is grounded in environmental stewardship, animal welfare, and community well-being.
The Rest
Visitors are welcome to purchase products directly from the farm, such as milk and eggs, but it is advised to call ahead. The farm also participates in events like the Southeast PA Grazing Conference and promotes community stewardship.
