Southspoon Farms

Southspoon Farms, located in Yantis, TX, has been milking cows for over three decades and is home to one of the largest goat dairies in the region, with 60-80 milking does and over 150 goats in total. The family-owned and operated business is known for its raw milk and other dairy products, fresh eggs, beef, pork, and goat milk soap. They also deliver farm-fresh milk to cheese makers around Texas using two state-inspected tankers.

The cows are pasture-based with supplemental grain provided during milking time, ensuring a diet that is 90 percent grass-fed. The goats are allowed to browse freely and are also given alfalfa hay and supplemental grain at milking time. The farm emphasizes the quality of their milk, which produces a rich cream line, and offers products like cream and chocolate milk made from family recipes.

They offer raw goat milk at $7 per half gallon and raw cow milk at $8 per gallon. Other products include free-range eggs, cream, yogurt, farm-raised pork, and pasture-based beef. The farm is located 80 miles east of Dallas and 10 miles south of Sulphur Springs. Farm tours are available upon request, and they provide delivery drop points for convenience. The farm store is open Thursday and Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm.
