About the Farm
Background
The farm began its full-time operations in September of 2021. Known for its pasture-raised eggs, the farm has quickly become a local favorite, with a focus on providing high-quality, nutritious eggs. The farm has also adopted a livestock guardian donkey named Nala to protect their chickens from predators.
Practices
Chickens live on grass all day, every day, and are constantly provided with fresh pasture to forage on, particularly bugs. Their coops are moved 3-4 times a week within electric fencing, and they change paddocks once a month. This rotation not only ensures the chickens have access to fresh forage but also helps fertilize the pasture. The farm emphasizes a regenerative approach, focusing on the health of the land and the animals.
The Rest
Visitors are welcome to see the entire operation, from hatching to brooding to the pasture rotation process. An aerial view of the farm showcases the pastured chicken paddocks and the brooder house. The farm continues to grow and evolve, with updates shared regularly.
