About the Farm
Background
The farm is located in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee, near Gatlinburg, and was founded by city dwellers who fell in love with the region in 2005. They moved there a few years later, driven by a desire to be more self-sufficient. Their journey began with gardening and quickly expanded to raising chickens, goats, and livestock guardian dogs.
Practices
The farm avoids chemicals in their gardens and employs a holistic approach to animal husbandry, complemented by modern medicine. Their Nigerian Dwarf goats are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and are tested annually for CAE, Johne's disease, and CL. The goats are known for their rich, sweet milk, which is ideal for cheese and soap making. The farm also breeds Anatolian Shepherds, a Turkish breed known for its effective livestock guarding abilities. These dogs are raised with goats, chickens, and pet dogs, ensuring they are well-integrated into the farm's ecosystem.
The Rest
The farm offers farm-fresh eggs and chickens, and their Anatolian Shepherd puppies come with health guarantees and lifetime breeder support. They are located conveniently near major cities like Knoxville, Gatlinburg, Asheville, and Johnson City. Transport for animals may be available for a small fee.
