About the Farm
Background
Owned and operated by Todd and Lisa Smith since 2011, the farm has its roots in Todd's upbringing on his parents' farm in Denton and his diverse farming experience, including irrigated farming in Colorado. Lisa, originally from a rural village in Derbyshire, England, began farming after moving to Texas in 2010. Together, they have built a farm known for its pasture-raised livestock and beekeeping, with Lisa managing an apiary of 17 bee hives.
Practices
The farm emphasizes raising animals on grass and hay, finishing them with a mix of oats, milo, corn, and soybeans, either grown on the farm or sourced from neighboring farms with similar practices. They use only necessary fertilizers and avoid herbicides like Roundup. The seeds planted are from their own crops, ensuring no GMOs are used. The farm is also exploring hydroponics with a new greenhouse in development.
The Rest
The farm offers its products at reasonable market prices and is currently expanding to include a hydroponics system in a new greenhouse.
