About the Farm

Background

The farm began its journey in 2012, and after selling the first location, it was re-established in 2016. Over the years, it has become known for its dedication to providing fresh, locally grown produce through its Subscription Box program. Customers have supported the farm for over a decade, enjoying a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Practices

The farm employs a range of sustainability and conservation measures to ensure long-term productivity and high-quality produce. Composting is a key practice, using kitchen scraps, leaves, and grass clippings to enrich the soil. Grass stripping between rows minimizes wind erosion, while mulching with natural materials conserves water and controls weeds. Drip irrigation efficiently waters the plants, reducing disease and weed growth. Plastic mulch is used for crops like tomatoes and peppers to warm the soil and conserve water. The farm experiments with crop varieties to optimize cold tolerance, pest resistance, and yield. Organic fertilizers, primarily aged cattle manure, are incorporated into the soil, with commercial fertilizers used sparingly. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is practiced, prioritizing non-chemical methods and using organic-approved sprays when necessary.

The Rest

The farm offers bulk orders of tomatoes, garlic, winter squash, raspberries, and green apples, with potential for other tree fruits depending on weather conditions. Customers can join the email list for updates on product availability. The farm's commitment to sustainable practices includes starting seeds in a greenhouse, rotating crops annually, and minimizing chemical use. The farm's irrigation system includes nearly a mile of drip lines.
