About the Farm

Background

Located in Grant County, WV, within the picturesque Potomac Highlands, the farm has been dedicated to raising livestock and producing quality meat products. The farm's meat is processed in a small, family-run butcher shop in Maryland that has been in operation since the 1800s, ensuring USDA inspection and vacuum packing for optimal freshness and freezer life.

Practices

The farm employs natural grazing methods on over 120 acres of clover, broome, and orchard grass, avoiding the use of hormones and chemical fertilizers. This approach supports the health of the land and the animals, fostering a balanced ecosystem. The livestock, including Black Angus and Simmental cattle, Hampshire, St. Croix, and Suffolk sheep, as well as pastured pork and chicken, thrive in this environment.

The Rest

In addition to meat products, the farm offers free-ranged eggs and Jersey milk soap in various fragrances. Products are marketed from an office in Maryland, near historic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and are available at the West Frederick Farmers Market on Saturday mornings from April through November.
