About the Farm

Background

Established in 1991, Seven Springs Farm is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. Over the years, it has become known for its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, providing fresh, seasonal produce and eggs to members in Roanoke, Salem, Blacksburg, and Floyd. The farm has been celebrating over three decades of delivering great food and fostering a close-knit community.

Practices

Seven Springs Farm employs organic farming practices, including the use of cover crops, compost, and mineral amendments like seaweed to enrich the soil. Pest and disease management strategies include physical barriers such as row covers, crop rotation, and natural, non-chemical sprays. The farm also practices rotational grazing for its grass-fed beef, supplementing with kelp seaweed to ensure the animals receive nourishing minerals.

The Rest

The farm offers a variety of CSA share sizes, including small, medium, and large, with options for herb and egg shares as well. Members can choose from full-season, 20-week, or 10-week delivery options. Working shares are available for those who wish to experience farm life and receive a discount on their share. Additionally, the farm operates an organic farming and gardening supply retail store and online catalog, providing mail-order or direct truck delivery of items.
