About the Farm
Background
The land has been in the family since the early 1950s and was previously used as horse pasture. Over the decades, it has transitioned into a certified organic farm known for its wide variety of vegetables. The farm's produce is available at select farmers' markets in Philadelphia, South Jersey, and NYC, and through CSA programs.
Practices
Certified organic by the NJDA, the farm avoids chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Farming practices are strictly monitored with yearly certification inspections. The farm focuses on maintaining healthy soil and creating habitats for wildlife and beneficial insects such as honey bees, praying mantis, and ladybugs. A 20 kW solar array meets the energy demands of the farm, aligning with their commitment to environmental stewardship.
The Rest
The farm offers both summer and fall CSA programs with local pick-ups. They provide vegetables to some of the finest restaurants in Philadelphia and NYC. The farm does not maintain a farm stand or retail store on the premises and conducts no sales on-site. They take pride in harvesting vegetables hours before bringing them to market, ensuring peak flavor and nutritional value.
