About the Farm
Background
Established in 2013, Sandy Brook Farm operates on 230 non-contiguous acres and has grown to include a diverse range of livestock. In 2015, they initiated a protein CSA program, which has been expanding each quarter.
Practices
The farm adheres to organic methods without seeking certification, feeding pigs and chickens certified organic grains. Beef and lamb are grass-raised and grass-finished, while hogs and chickens are pastured with daily supplementary rations. Animals are never given hormones or GMOs, and no herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides are applied to the land. Restoration agriculture practices include reducing tillage, promoting biodiversity, and ensuring humane, stress-free environments for the animals.
The Rest
Products available include beef by the cut, 1/4, 1/2, or whole animal; pork by the cut, 1/2 or whole animal; lamb by the cut or whole animal; and whole poultry. Customers are encouraged to call for availability and current pricing.
