About the Farm

Background

In 1987, Bob and Sara Schlosser became neighbors in Wolcott, Vermont, and soon married on what is now their farm. They began with homesteading, gardens, and maple sugaring. By the early 90s, they were selling produce at the Stowe Farmers Market and to local chefs. The farm evolved over the years, adding a farm-to-fork dinner series in 2009 when their daughter Sandi returned from the New England Culinary Institute. In 2012, they transitioned to agritourism, adding a high tunnel for events. They received a Vermont Working Lands Grant in 2014, allowing them to build a greenhouse for seasonal events. In 2018, they expanded with an additional ten acres and constructed a pottery and woodworking studio. The farm now offers overnight stays and various events.

Practices

The farm uses regenerative and organic growing practices, avoiding chemicals and focusing on soil health. They rotate crops annually and cover crop unused fields to prevent runoff. Compost is regularly turned into fertilizer, and only windblown wood from their forest is harvested for heating and maple sugaring. Renewable energy sources like wind and solar power are integral to their operations.

The Rest

The farm offers internships, allowing individuals to explore gardening, animal care, and other projects. They host unique events, including weddings and farm stays, with rustic accommodations and local activities. The farm is committed to minimal environmental impact and connecting guests with their farming practices.
