About the Farm

Background

Rush River Produce is a family operation run by Terry and John Cuddy, with the assistance of their children Joe and Lucas. Known for being one of the largest U-Pick berry farms in the region, it offers a longer blueberry season than other area farms, stretching from July through August. The farm also provides a variety of other berries, including red, black, and white currants, as well as gooseberries.

Practices

The farm raises all its fruit and produce using sustainable agriculture methods, striving to grow clean, healthy whole foods. The emphasis is on working with Mother Nature, acknowledging the variability in berry supply due to weather and customer traffic. The farm also accommodates mobility-impaired or elderly visitors by allowing vehicle access to limited sections of the berry fields.

The Rest

Visitors can enjoy locally produced honey and maple syrup, as well as garden produce when available. The farm offers a picturesque rural setting with perennial flower gardens, picnic tables, and scenic hiking opportunities overlooking the Rush River Valley and the Mississippi River Valley. It is a family-friendly operation with plenty of room for children to roam. The farm provides boxes for berry picking and accepts personal checks and cash, but not credit cards. It is open Thursday through Sunday, 8 am to 2 pm, during the berry season.
