Round Right Farm

Round Right Farm was established by Steve and Sunshine Vortigern, who met in graduate school and shared a curiosity about sustainable living. After a farming apprenticeship in Oakland, MD, they purchased a 41-acre farm in Cranesville, WV, in 2006. Initially lacking infrastructure, they transformed the hay field into an organic farm through hard work and perseverance. The farm became a place for them to earn a living, raise their children, and explore the relationship between humans and the natural environment. Chef Ed now runs the farm, continuing its mission of providing nutrient-rich produce to the community.

The farm adheres to organic practices, avoiding synthetic and chemical pesticides, herbicides, fossil-fuel-based fertilizers, genetically modified seeds, growth hormones, and antibiotics. They focus on improving soil quality and increasing biodiversity. Although not certified organic due to cost, they invite visitors to see their regenerative organic farming methods in practice.

Members of the CSA can customize their weekly produce boxes online or opt for a diverse selection chosen by the farm. Produce is harvested at its peak and delivered to local neighborhoods. The farm emphasizes the importance of nurturing the earth and stabilizing reliable, quality local food sources.
