About the Farm
Background
Since 2009, the urban nursery has been known for its certified organic heirloom starter plants and specialty cut flowers. Located in Redlands, California, the operation is run by Carrie-Anne, who transitioned from a holistic health educator to a commercial grower. The nursery has become a local staple, offering a variety of plants and flowers to the community and beyond.
Practices
The farm operates with a deep reverence for nature, focusing on organic growing methods. The micro production nursery grows plants from direct seeding and propagation of perennials found on the property. The farm also cultivates both annual and perennial herbs, cut flowers, and maintains over 30 fruit-producing trees and vines. Stone fruits like peaches, apricots, and plums, as well as boysenberries and grapes, are grown along the property's fence line. The emphasis is on maintaining harmony with nature and preserving the planet.
The Rest
The farm's products can be found at Clark's Nutrition and Natural Foods Markets and Loma Linda University Hospitals Gift Shop. They offer a bouquet CSA, wedding floral services, and wholesale and retail options. Additionally, they provide urban agriculture consulting, garden-based lifestyle coaching, on-site teaching, and weekly corporate floral arrangements. The nursery is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays.
