About the Farm
Background
Three brothers, known as the Red Beards, operate this family-run farm. They specialize in raising three endangered breeds of pigs: Ossabaw Island hogs, Red Wattle hogs, and Large Black hogs. The farm is dedicated to preserving these rare breeds and providing premium meat to their customers.
Practices
The pigs are never fed conventional grain; instead, they are nourished with mostly organic produce and fermented grains, avoiding corn entirely. The animals are processed at a Texas State Licensed butcher, ensuring quality and safety in the meat production process.
The Rest
Zach, the middle brother, also bakes goods sold from the farm, at Bastrop Producers Market, and Wheatsville Co-op under the label Munchees Lunchbox.
