About the Farm
Background
The farm began two years ago with two yellow chicks and has since grown to an average of 100 chickens. The journey started when the owner's daughter inquired about chicken shows, leading them to discover the world of poultry exhibitions. Enthralled by the variety and excitement, they began participating in shows and expanding their flock, which now includes a wide range of breeds such as Ameraucanas, Wyandottes, Marans, and more.
Practices
The farm's chickens are fed a diverse diet including leftovers, vegetables, fruits, seeds, yogurt, oatmeal, and watermelon, supplemented with fermented seeds and a non-GMO, soy-free feed. They believe in the health benefits of farm-fresh eggs, which they sell at the market and directly from the farm. Additionally, they grow heirloom vegetables in their gardens, aiming to offer a large crop for sale if conditions allow.
The Rest
The farm also offers hatching eggs and chicks for sale when available. They produce homemade pet treats for horses, dogs, and chickens in various shapes and flavors, and provide herbal supplements and remedies for pets. They enjoy engaging with visitors and customers about chickens, dogs, and gardening.
