About the Farm
Background
Since 1965, the farm has maintained a small herd of Nubian and Saanen dairy goats in Grants Pass, Oregon. The farm has continually improved its herd by incorporating top bloodlines from renowned breeders such as Woest-Hoeve, Greenehaven, and Wingwood. The addition of two exceptional bucks in 2023 has further enhanced the quality and genetics of the herd.
Practices
The goats have access to 4-5 acres of irrigated pasture, fresh water, daily alfalfa and/or orchard grass hay, organic barley and other grains, along with kelp and Molly's Herbal Wormer weekly. The herd is tested annually and remains CAE negative, with no caseous lymphadenitis or other health issues. The farm provides Bo-Se and vaccinations for enterotoxemia. The animals are ADGA registered and the herd is completely CAE, CL, Johnes, and G6S negative.
The Rest
Milk is available year-round at $12 per gallon, with customers required to bring their own containers. Mozzarella and feta cheese are available on order. The farm offers breeding stock and quality kids for sale, with a few select does, doe and buck kids, and wethers available each year. Customers are encouraged to check the 'For Sale' and 'Kidding' pages for availability and pricing.
