About the Farm
Background
The Romeyns have been operating a successful and diversified CSA for 16 years under the name Providence Organic Farm, and for 4 years prior to that at the Martha Wagbo Peace & Education Center.
Practices
The farm uses USDA certified organic growing practices, focusing on soil health and avoiding synthetic chemical herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides. Their certifier is OEFFA.
The Rest
The farm donates vegetable shares to families and hundreds of pounds of organic vegetables to local food pantries each season. They host school tours, teach young farmers, and offer various classes. CSA members can customize their shares, choose delivery locations, and receive weekly lists, recipes, and storage tips. The farm offers a variety of shares including veggies, berries, pastured pork, grass-fed lamb, local pastured chicken, wild-caught fish, and honey. They provide half, small, and large sized produce shares, with up to 24 weeks of garden shares starting in June and winter shares available from December to February. Weekly pick-up times and multiple drop-off locations are available.
