About the Farm
Background
Established in 1795, this NC Bicentennial Farm has a long-standing tradition of responsible stewardship and community involvement. Known for its heritage breeds and diverse agricultural products, the farm has become a cornerstone of local agritourism and education.
Practices
The farm emphasizes responsible and sustainable stewardship in all its operations. Poultry, including heritage breeds like Delaware and Rhode Island Red chickens, are raised free-range, while sheep such as Tunis and registered Leicester Longwool are pasture-raised. Goat milk for soap production comes from mini-milker goats, ensuring a natural and local product. All products are raised and processed entirely in North Carolina.
The Rest
The farm is an active member of the NC Agritourism Networking Association and hosts a variety of educational programs, workshops, and farm tours every Saturday. The farm store operates during tours, special events, and by appointment. Visitors can check the farm's website for a complete listing of events and educational opportunities.
