About the Farm
Background
Over a decade ago, the Planz Family started Providence Cattle Company in Hillsborough County to supply whole and half steers to families in the Tampa Bay area. Joe Planz, with a background in dairying and the hotel and restaurant business, emphasized traceability and high-quality Angus genetics for exceptional marbling. The partnership with Clifton Chapman of Double C Bar Ranch further enhanced their expertise, leading to recognition as the premier Grassfed/Grass finished cattle producer in Florida.
Practices
Providence Cattle Company adheres strictly to the guidelines of the American Grassfed Association. Their Angus-based cows and steers are born, raised, and processed in Florida, feeding on high-quality grasses. The 'never, ever' program ensures that the cattle are never given antibiotics or growth hormones and are always treated humanely. This commitment results in well-marbled, incredible tasting beef known for its healthy Omega 3 fat content.
The Rest
Providence Cattle Company's beef is part of the Fresh-From-Florida program, ensuring local production and distribution. Their beef is served in some of the finest steakhouses, specialty restaurants, hotels, and butcher shops in Central Florida. They are also a proud protein partner of the 2024 Buccaneers.
