About the Farm
Background
In 1912, brothers Clarence and Lester Pease purchased Fairbanks Farm in Brooks Village, Templeton, Massachusetts, and began planting fruit trees. They established the first commercial orchard in the area, gaining a reputation for high-quality apples sold throughout New England. Now in its third generation, the Pease Family continues to produce some of the best apples and sweet cider in the Northeast.
Practices
The orchard benefits from a unique combination of altitude, soils, and climate that is perfect for growing apples. This careful attention to the natural environment ensures that the apples are crisp and juicy, maintaining the high standards set by the original founders.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy a variety of treats at the Apple Shed farm stand, including fresh-baked pies, pure maple syrup, local honey, and warm turnovers. The orchard is a popular destination in the fall, offering a picturesque setting amidst the vibrant colors of North Quabbin hill country.
