About the Farm
Background
Starting from a community garden plot in 2013 and working with a master gardener in Whitewater, Wisconsin, the business has evolved to partner with farmers in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan, offering a wider variety of produce than typical CSAs. By 2014, the operation expanded to include year-round services through Chicago's wholesale market.
Practices
The farm emphasizes organic growing methods and has recently begun experimenting with indoor growing using soil, supplemented light, and stable temperatures. This approach allows for a wide variety of produce throughout the year, including heirloom tomatoes, beets, Swiss chard, watermelon, and pumpkins.
The Rest
The service includes themed deliveries featuring culturally diverse produce, customizable packages, and free delivery to homes or offices in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Each delivery typically includes a variety of vegetables, herbs, and a dozen organic eggs. The aim is to make healthy eating fun, easy, and convenient.
