Padden Family Farm

Since June of 1990, the farm has been creating a self-sufficient, organic oasis in Beecher, Illinois, just 35 miles from downtown Chicago. The farm's philosophy and driving motivation have been rooted in organic, seasonal, and sustainable practices since its inception. Their commitment to organic farming began in 1980, long before moving to their current location.

The farm provides the best pastures, forage plots, and organic produce as a healthy diet for all livestock. They supplement with a custom-blended organic grain and field pea mixture soaked for 24 hours in water, organic apple cider vinegar, and molasses. Notably, they do not feed corn or soy to any of their animals. Although not USDA certified, their organic philosophy is more exacting than government regulations.

The farm offers a variety of products including whole or half butchered animals, retail cuts, and CSA shares available year-round. They also produce garden and orchard fresh produce available directly from the farm or through seasonal CSA shares. The farm is a proud member of WWOOF USA, welcoming visitors to see their practices in action and exchange ideas about organic farming.
