North Plain Farm & Blue Hill Farm

Sean Stanton established North Plain Farm in 2001 on his family's land in Great Barrington. Starting with a small chicken flock, the farm has grown into a diversified operation including laying hens, meat chickens, heritage pigs, draft horses, goats, turkeys, beef cattle, and select vegetables. The farm also manages a 100% grass-fed, organic raw milk dairy at its sister location, Blue Hill Farm.

The farm is committed to the health and welfare of its animals, feeding them their natural diet and allowing them to spend their days outdoors. Cows are pasture-raised on nutrient-rich grass without any corn or silage supplements, resulting in healthier animals that do not require antibiotics or hormones. All livestock, including pigs, chickens, and goats, are raised under true organic standards, with chickens and pigs receiving NOFA-NY certified organic grains. The farm employs a rotational grass-based system that regenerates the soil and respects the lives of the animals and the people who raise them.

The farm maintains an open farm policy, inviting customers to visit year-round. Products are sold at an on-site farm store and the Great Barrington Farmers Market. The farm store, open from sunrise to sunset, offers 100% grass-fed beef and milk, pastured eggs and chicken, pastured pork, and select vegetables. Additionally, the store features products from local food producers such as Hosta Hill ferments, Barrington Coffee, Justamere Maple Syrup, Chaseholm Farm Yogurt & Cheese, BOLA Granola, and Smoke & Honey.
