About the Farm
Background
With roots stretching back to 1977, this farm has been a cornerstone of the community for over 45 years. Managed by three generations of the Niemczyk family, the farm has grown from humble beginnings to a 30-acre operation. Known for their dedication to producing fresh, safe vegetables, they launched a CSA program a decade ago, which now serves 250 members.
Practices
The farm prides itself on growing all its own produce, ensuring that everything is fresh-picked daily. Their farming philosophy emphasizes quality and safety, with a diverse array of vegetables including cabbage, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, peas, cucumbers, peppers, carrots, beets, melons, celery, onions, lettuce, and broccoli. The interconnectedness of their practices is evident in their commitment to providing fresh produce directly to the community through various channels.
The Rest
In addition to their CSA program, the farm operates a retail greenhouse and a roadside vegetable stand open from June through November, weather permitting. They also participate in four St. Paul farmers markets, making their produce accessible to a wider audience. The farm stand is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. CSA members can pick up their shares at the farm from noon to 8 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
