About the Farm

Background

Located in the Neversink river valley, the farm grew out of a passion for food, a healthy environment, and animal welfare. Over the years, it has become known for producing high-quality food with a focus on ethical and sustainable practices. The farm offers a variety of products and has become a local staple for fresh, diverse foodstuffs.

Practices

The farm employs radical and intensive farming methods, eschewing tractors in favor of hand tools to maintain soil integrity. They practice no-till farming by using permanent beds and broadforking to reduce soil disturbance. This approach not only preserves soil structure and organic matter but also enhances the quality and resilience of their produce. Their commitment to maintaining fertile soil allows for continuous planting and harvesting throughout the year, supported by hoop houses that enable year-round vegetable production.

The Rest

Visitors can enjoy farm tours by prior notification and shop at the farm store, which is open from May through October. The farm also hosts barn dinners, workshops, and other events in a 100-year-old barn, providing a unique opportunity to experience local food and farming practices up close. Educational resources, including free YouTube videos and an online farming course, are available to those interested in small-scale farming and self-reliance.
