About the Farm
Background
Brian and Theresa started the ranch in 1995 with the goal of raising high-quality, grass-fed bison free from antibiotics, hormones, and other chemicals. After three years of research and traveling to other ranches, they purchased their starter herd of six bison. Initially located in Pennsylvania, the operation moved to the Panhandle of Oklahoma after 18 years and then to greener pastures near Tulsa, Oklahoma. The ranch has grown to meet the demand for healthier meat and now offers a range of products including meat, hides, skulls, headmounts, and breeding stock.
Practices
The ranch employs intensive rotational grazing, moving the animals between several pastures as each one is consumed. This method eliminates the need for continuous worming and other unnecessary medications required in feedlot systems. The bison are raised without antibiotics, hormones, or grain, ensuring that the meat remains lean and healthy.
The Rest
The ranch is currently not offering tours due to calving season. They encourage support for local farms and ranches, emphasizing the quality and health benefits of their products. Brian and Theresa are available to discuss any questions about their products or bison in general. The ranch also maintains a mailing list for sales and specials.
