About the Farm
Background
David and Jennifer Myers bought the 7.5-acre farm in July 2011, initially known as 'Tiny Farm,' a name given by their oldest daughter. Shortly after moving in, their second daughter was born. The farm started with cattle and goats, followed by pigs and chickens. David's background in Commercial Farming and Jennifer's childhood experience with livestock made this a natural progression, further fueled by their children's interest in animals and 4-H. The farm expanded, including the addition of two sons, and was renamed Muddy Toes Farm to reflect its growth. Raw pet milk sales began in 2018, and the farm doubled in size to 15 acres in 2023 with the purchase of adjoining land.
Practices
The farm emphasizes the natural behavior and well-being of its livestock. Cattle are on pasture year-round with access to shelter. Mature livestock enjoy pens or pastures with ample space, while young stock are housed in a small barn for better health monitoring. Monthly testing ensures the cleanliness and health of the raw milk, which is labeled for pet consumption. The farm's philosophy is that animals living naturally produce higher quality products.
The Rest
The farm offers self-serve pickup for raw milk, available in plastic jugs and heavy Stanpac glass milk jars, with a deposit required for glass jars. They sell trained weaned heifers, commercial and registered Boer goats, and milk-fed pigs for meat or breeding. Livestock sales, including Jersey cows, Boer goat kids, and Hampshire lambs, are updated on their website. The farm strives to build trust with customers and provide a welcoming environment.
