About the Farm

Background

The main farmhouse, built in 1904, sits on a 200-acre estate located at the base of Mt. Hood and bookended by Mt. Adams. The farm was the first in the valley to achieve full organic certification in 1989 and is known as the first certified organic commercial orchard in the state of Oregon. Located just 20 minutes from Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge, and just over an hour from Portland, Oregon, the farm offers a unique blend of historic architecture, heirloom apple and pear orchards, forests, meadows, ponds, and English gardens.

Practices

Achieving full organic certification in 1989, the farm adheres to organic farming practices, focusing on the health of the soil, the plants, and the surrounding ecosystem. The orchards are managed without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, promoting biodiversity and ecological balance.

The Rest

Visitors can enjoy signature cider, take tours of the historic 200-acre property, and purchase curated fruit boxes. The farm also hosts various events and offers breathtaking panoramic views, legendary sunsets, and starlit nights. Fruit sales begin on October 5th and continue until approximately January 31st, with hours from 10 am to 5 pm daily until mid-November.
